An exhibition «The Ingush Cause. Dignity Protest», dedicated to Ingush political prisoners. The organizers of the event recalled the events of March 2019 in Magas.
«We all know the history of this shameful case, which began on March 27, 2019. In a month it will be two years since people came out to Magas Square with a peaceful protest, a protest of dignity against the agreement on the demarcation of the border between Chechnya and Ingushetia. All they demanded was direct elections in Ingushetia, annulment of the agreement and return of their constitutional rights. The protest was crushed. Politically motivated criminal proceedings were initiated against 48 people. Proceedings against active members of the protest have been going on since November 24 last year,» said the event’s host, opening the exhibition.
The exhibition featured portraits and photographs of protest leaders, their letters from pre-trial detention facilities, drawings of prisoners’ children, and photographs of pickets in support of prisoners of conscience.
