On the previous day in a mosque in the village of Altiyevo, residents of the republic recorded a video message requesting the release of Ingush prisoners.
The elders noted that the detainees were patriots of Ingushetia and Russia, and had not broken any laws, but merely expressed their disagreement with the 2018 border agreement.

In the video, citizens directly addressed the head of Ingushetia, Makhmud-Ali Kalimatov, the Ingush parliament, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, MP Muslim Tatriev and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The worshippers are concerned that the republic’s residents may enter a new rally because the prisoners in the «Ingush case» have been waiting for a fair ruling for over two years, and there’s been no positive movement on the part of the authorities.

At the end of his speech Usman Malsagov appealed to all Ingush, regardless of their place of residence, not to stand aside and speak out about the situation, since everyone has the power to do so, and there is no point in relying on the authorities to resolve the situation.

Fifty-one people were prosecuted for the Magas events, and three of them were terminated. According to data from the Memorial Human Rights Centre, 37 people have been convicted in the Ingush case. All the trials are taking place outside the Republic — in Stavropol Krai. «Memorial» considers all seven persons accused of creating an extremist community to be political prisoners: Akhmed Barakhoyev, Musa Malsagov, Ismail Nalgiyev, Zarifa Sautieva, Malsag Uzhakhov, Bagaudin Khautiev and Barakh Chemurziev, Akhmed Pogorov.

The nationwide commission to review issues related to the territory and boundaries of Ingushetia, established at the World Congress of the Ingush People, has published its report, in which it approved the illegality and groundlessness of the 2018 boundary-setting agreement.
