«The National Council of Ingushetia, which justifies the actions of the previous authorities who signed the agreement on the border with Chechnya, is not authorized to speak on behalf of the people of the republic, Ingush youth organizations said in a letter sent to the editorial board of Fortanga. Most of the republic’s young people support the position of the Teip Council of Ingushetia on this issue, they said.
We, the youth organizations of the Republic of Ingushetia, are compelled to express our united opinion in connection with the fact that the new, so-called «National Council of Ingushetia» headed by Musa Albogachiyev, some «religious figures» and simply «activists» are conducting an openly pro-Evkurov policy, trying to legitimize in the eyes of the Ingush people an agreement on the borders of Yevkurov-Kadyrov.
The illegality and groundlessness of this agreement is proven by a report prepared by a special commission commission commissioned by the World Congress of the Ingush People, a decision of the Ingush Constitutional Court, and the Shariah opinion of the Ingush Alims. In this so-called «National Council» there are no historians or just those who have read the materials of the report to the end, but there are those who repeatedly met with Yevkurov (former head of Ingushetia) […] and those who only yesterday were in Yevkurov’s team.
If this is not the case, let Musa Albogachiyev put down the Koran and swear that he did not meet Yevkurov more than once after signing the agreement and even after he imprisoned Ingush elders, men and sisters, just as he did at the last meeting, where he got heated about patriot Sarazhdin Sultygov. After all that […], after hundreds of searches, arrests and trumped-up cases, the chairman of the «National Council» meets with Evkurov and now, under the guise of a people’s advocate, he creates an organization with a loud name and tries to pursue a policy of whitewashing and exonerating Evkurov […] The last meeting clearly shows this.
From the first days of the creation of the «National Council,» it has observed pro-Evkurov and pro-Kadyrov positions. They’re doing well, and we’re doing badly. The whole world knows the situation of the Chechen people today, and we especially know it. May Almighty Allah ease the situation of our brothers and sisters from Chechnya. We have no conflict with the Chechen people, who themselves suffer oppression, we have a complaint first and foremost against Yevkurov and his henchmen, and then only against Kadyrov, who never stops insulting the Ingush people and our elders, and then, using pseudo-imams and walkers of age to appoint a general «sag1. This is dust in the eyes of the Ingush people, but we are not the same people we were yesterday.
Once again we remind Musa Albogachiev and other figures that they have no right to speak on behalf of the people and represent their interests anywhere. The majority of Ingushetia’s youth fully support the position of the Teip Council of the Republic of Ingushetia on the resolution of the territorial dispute with the Chechen side, through the work of a bilateral commission, and consider any feasts with the Chechen authorities before the resolution of this issue unacceptable, especially while our best representatives are imprisoned.

The «National Council of Ingushetia» recently claimed that it was justified to hand over a part of Ingushetia’s lands to Chechnya and offered representatives of the republics to meet on neutral ground and clear up the issue of the ancestral ownership of the disputed territory. Elders, community activists and politicians criticized the statement of the «National Council».
Since the fall of 2018, after the agreement on the border between Ingushetia and Chechnya, rallies began in Magas. In March 2019, they turned into clashes with security forces and detentions of activists. A total of 46 people were arrested, most of them receiving real sentences on charges of violence against authorities. Akhmed Barakhoev, Musa Malsagov, Ismail Nalgiev, Zarifa Sautieva, Malsag Uzhakhov, Bagaudin Khautiev and Barakh Chemurziev, also detained in the rally case, were charged with extremism. On December 15, the Kislovodsk city court sentenced them to terms from 7.5 to 9 years in prison.
