The speaker of the Chechen Parliament, Magomed Daudov, reproached the Teip Council of Ingushetia for the failure of the elders to appear before the Sharia court on the land issue.
We will try to take what belongs to us after we see what the Russian law says, Magomed Daudov said.
«They [the Ingush] have not understood good treatment of themselves. We will act on the basis of Russian law, according to the Russian Constitution,» he said.
According to Daudov, after he was summoned to the Sharia court the representatives of the Teyp Council did not come to the meeting.
«Two or three years ago I said that on Sunday (November 21) from noon to afternoon namaz time I would come to Tsecha-Akhk. You all heard that, and so did they […] Being unprepared, did you announce Shariah to the Chechen people? «For three years we have been preparing, we are right» — you have sent us a letter with such content, attaching a report,» said the Speaker of the Chechen Parliament.
The Teip Council of Ingushetia announced that the authorities did not respond to a 94-page report and resolution sent to the authorities on August 5, 2021. An appeal demanding that «appropriate measures be taken to restore the territorial integrity of the republic» was sent to federal and local authorities and, in particular, to the heads of Ingushetia and Chechnya. «Fortanga published a report with the main provisions on the boundaries and territory of Ingushetia, prepared by the Nationwide Commission on Boundaries and Territory of the Republic, formed by the World Congress of the Ingush People on October 30, 2018.
Daudov once again called the Council of Teips of Ingushetia a small «bunch» inciting interethnic discord. The Sharia court issue is finally closed, he added.
At the same time, he said, if the «office» (the Council of the Ingush Teips) calms down, peace will reign between the Ingush and the Chechens. «I said that both yesterday and four days ago. I knew no one was coming, that there would be no action beyond words. The elders did not show up at the time we designated. We can’t meet like this every time, so now we put an end to this issue,» he concluded.
Fortanga earlier reported that the Teip Council of Ingushetia said it was ready to go to trial at the Sharia court on issues concerning the demarcation of territory between Ingushetia and Chechnya, but only if Ramzan Kadyrov made an official statement accepting the court’s decision.
Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov also threatened to take away Chechen lands «donated» by Dzhokhar Dudayev. He was indignant at a spontaneous gathering of residents who were unhappy that the Fortanga River, which flows between the two republics, had been diverted by the Chechenavtodor without the agreement of the Ingush authorities. Residents gathered in one of the villages bordering Chechnya and demanded that the riverbed be restored to its original state.
